Antique Attic Floorboards Transformed
Antique heart pine attic floorboards transformed into a shaker style dining table. This was a custom job done for the current homeowner during a recent restoration project. The original house was built on Bacon Farm in Barnstable in 1642 and moved to its current location in the 1840’s.
Antique pine foyer bench and wall unit features mahogany trim, highlighting the natural pumpkin pine coloration. The hand-planed trestle table top is comprised of clear pine; the wood dates back to an 1848 church remodel; see original pew in the slideshow above. The beautiful, rich color is natural. The pumpkin pine was painted, hence the lighter tone. It is amazing what sunlight can do, because at one time, these woods were the same color. Now the natural coloration differs markedly.
Antique wide pine attic floorboards comprise this built-in
entertainment center. No stain is required.
